Sorry for not being able to post very often. I have been doing research and working on a multimedia project about the growing trends of women who play video games.
If you are a woman and would like to include any comments that I could use for my story, please comment with your name, age, location, an profession.
To honor my research and keeping in step with what I have been up to, below is my pick for the "Top 5 Coolest Women in Video Games:"
5. Nariko
Series: "Heavenly Sword"
Although "Heaven Sword" received mixed reviews when it was released on the Playstation 3, Nariko is no doubt one of the coolest females characters in video games. Having the style of Dante from "Devil May Cry" coupled with the deadly power of Kratos from "God of War," Nariko is certainly a hands-on damsel that isn't afraid to kick some butt.
4. Princess Zelda
Series: "The Legend of Zelda"
Princess Zelda is most often cast as the dependant woman who is in need of saving from the valiant Link. However when you look a little closer, you see that there is more to Zelda than meets the eye. She actively helps Link in his quests by often providing safe passage or hidden powers which Link uses to defeat Ganon again and again.
3. Joanna Dark
Series: "Perfect Dark"
Perhaps one of the closest things to a female James Bond, Joanna Dark is a stealthy and lethal vixen. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she was introduced in one of the greatest games for the Nintendo 64, but Joanna is a character that could kill you from 100 yards away.
2. Laura Croft
Series: "Tomb Raider"
Laura Croft has been the epitome of female exploitation in video games but aside from that, she is one of the most active women in the industry. A a female Indiana Jones goes, Laura has jumped her fair share of ravines and shot enough snakes and tigers to open her own leather and fur emporium. Nevertheless, Laura Croft is probably the most recognizable female video game character and has the moves to back it up.
1. Samus Aran
Series: "Metroid"
The tectonic plates shook the moment gamers realized that their beloved Samus Aran was actually a woman - and a blond at that. Samus is a living example that gender does not really make a difference when playing video games. Players of the "Metorid" series loved playing as Samus before being told of her true gender and they continue to love her years later. This is one space princess that has seen of a lot of strange stuff with us with her every step of the way.

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits Coming June 16
Gamespot.com reported yesterday that the compilation title from the Guitar Hero series called "Guitar Hero: Smash Hits" will be released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, and Wii on June 16.
The game will feature tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80s.
To view the full set list, you can visit the Guitar Hero: Smash Hits official web site.
It seems that this summer is going to be the perfect time to introduce yourself to the Guitar Hero series as the new game will feature re-worked versions of all songs for full compatibility with guitars, drums, and microphones on classic Guitar Hero tracks.
Also, the song-creation function from World Tour called "Music Studio" will make a return in Smash Hits as well as online and offline playable modes.
No word on if a instrument bundle will be released with the game's launch in June.
