Inventor Johnny Lee demonstrates alternative uses of the Nintendo Wii remote.

First, she shows how the Wii remote can be used as a digital whiteboard using a projector.

Next he demonstrates how it can used for a touch screen with a projector.

Finally - and most importantly for game developers - he shows how the Wii remote can be used to track movements of a players head creating a 3D effect. According to Lee, this technology is going to be utilized as an "easter egg" in an upcoming game for EA.

Check it out:

If this could be used in conjunction with games for the Wii or perhaps future iterations of the Wii, Nintendo's gimmick may very well turn into something with geniun appeal to hardcore and casual gamers alike.

Be on the lookout for something like this paving the way of the future of the industry.
