Gamespot recently released their video review of Soul Calibur IV for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3:
They seem to really like it and 1up.com gave the game an A.
However, from my experience with Soul Calibur II for the Gamecube, I felt that this series is way overrated. The Gamespot review said that the only draw for SCIV is the new online content, so I don't think that is a good enough reason to purchase a game.
Maybe it's just that I like to jump a lot in my fighting games and in Soul Calibur you are uncomfortably stuck to the ground which makes it not very enjoyable for me, but I did not like it.
Can someone please tell me what the appeal is from a game that is too reliant on item-based combat and customization?
